The MISSION of Youth Organizations Coalition (YOC) is: to network and collaborate with youth organizations to provide integrated services and more effectively assist children on their path to become successful adults. YOC will work collaboratively through member organizations to find solutions to providing the best opportunities for children and youth by improving their service capacities, efficiently using resources, addressing common challenges and issues, improve communications by offering a central point-of-contact between youth member organizations and other institutions serving children like schools, DCF, courts, hospitals and government services. To achieve its Mission, YOC has the following Objectives:
Identify youth organizations (in Volusia County) and the services that they provide to children-to-young adults, and integrate member information.
YOC will provide a platform for research-based, best practices in youth education and development. (database)
Help to coordinate and support a network of youth organizations that serve children and young adults. The Coalition will not offer youth services, but help those organizations maximize what they do through meetings, consultants, speakers and training.
Work through existing organizations to extend the capacity of services offered to children and young adults by encouraging best practices, minimizing duplication while closing gaps in youth service needs.
Coordinate and facilitate services from member organizations with parents, schools, government service organizations and other stakeholders.
Provide support services to the coalition that are best addressed as a group, e.g., group purchasing, transportation, insurance, accounting, grants and financial reporting.
